Hanns Schimansky has held one-man shows since 1985, in Berlin a.o. at Gallery Mitte, Gallery Rotunde, Neue Nationalgalleri (90), Gallery Inga Kondeyne (95, 97, 2000), Brecht-Haus Weissensee (95), Gallery Frank + Schulte (96), Akdemie der Künste (98), as well as at the Städtische Gallery Museum Folwang, Essen (90, 91), Gallery Bismarck in Bremen (95), Gallery Barbara Gross in Munich (98), Ystad Konstmuseum, Sweden (98), Neuchãtel, Musée d'art et d'histoire, Switzerland (2000). Schimansky participated in the large exhibition Echtzeit, at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Oslo in 1992 and has participated in many group exhibitions throughout Europe.
