CERAMIST ARNE ÅSE IN BRIEF

October brings ceramist and professor Arne Åse (b. 1940) to Haugesund Art Gallery,
35 yeras after his first appearence in 1968.
His porcelain works has made him well-known in Norway and abroad. He has explored the magnitudes of shapes and expressions in ceramics, thus he is considered experimental in style. Evident polarities can be found comparing some of his decoration works: a.o. Britishe Airways, Heathrow (1998) and Tysvaer Kultursenter, Norway (1993)
Arne Åse has worked as a teacher in Oslo Art Academy for over 30 years, the latest 12 years as professor at department of ceramics.


 

The artist is available for interview thursday, october 9.th and friday, october 10.th from 11.am and onwards. He will also be present at opening day.
